We organized TrustVWs 2009 "Virtual Worlds: Trust, Security, Rule of Law" workshop within the 1st International ICST Conference on User Centric Media - UCMedia 2009, Venice, Italy, 9 December 2009. Four talks have been presented:

1. Keynote speaker Gerald Spindler (University of Göttingen) "On Legal Issues in Virtual Worlds", see his paper at the main conference. He claims that in a virtual world you can not escape from the real world law. He examines the tackled legal issues. slides

2. Kai Erenli (Fachhochschule des bfi Wien) Virtual Persons + Virtual Goods = Real Problems. He concluded that "a discussion on the protection of the Virtual Person is strongly needed. For Virtual Worlds are just like real life." slides

3. Kristina Lapin (Vilnius University) A Comparison of Three Virtual World Platforms for the Purposes of Learning Support in VirtualLife. She spoke about Multiverse, OpenSim and Metaplace in learning support. slides

4. Vytautas Cyras (Vilnius University) Transforming Legal Rules into Online Virtual World Rules: A Case Study in the VirtualLife Platform. The context is the EU FP6 ICT VirtualLife project. The talk was inspired by legal visualization of Friedrich Lachmayer and the joint work on the legal informatics approach "From rules in law to rules in artifact". slides
